Arthur Bishop is a top contract killer, known as a "mechanic", who works exclusively for a secretive international criminal organization that has very strict rules. His occupation affords him a lavish lifestyle - he regularly listens to classical music, has an art collection, and is a connoisseur of fine wines. However, he is forced to live alone - he cannot show emotions or trust people. Bishop is under constant emotional pressure, so much so that he is prescribed anti-depressants for depression. One day he is temporarily hospitalized after he loses consciousness due to the stress. Bishop pays a call girl to have a simulated romantic social and sexual relationship, including her writing fake love letters to him.
The funny thing is that this sounds more interesting than it is. Charles Bronson, who has recently started to enjoy a long-delayed superstar status, is very good and slit-eyed as the mechanic, and the movie's premise is a nice one with a lot of neat twists toward the end. But Michael Winner (whose other near misses include "Hannibal Brooks" and "The Games") has only been able to fully trust a script once in his career. That time he made the wonderful "The Jokers" (1967), one of the best caper movies.
The Mechanic
The Mechanic Spot is a family owned and operated auto repair shop who prides ourselves on providing the best customer service you have ever experienced from a mechanic. For your convenience, we are open 7 days a week because repair needs can arise anytime! This also makes it easier for you to schedule your maintenance or repair into your busy week. Our mechanics are ASE certified and trained in both import and domestic repairs and maintenance.
We will promise that all of your personal information supplied is held securely, and in accordance with the current UK data protection legislation. Any personal info you have given us will never be supplied to third parties without first getting your permission to do so, unless we are obliged by law to disclose your information. If you have a query or complaint about this privacy policy, you can contact us by email: info@mechanicindustries.com
If the charge is much higher than the estimate, or if the work was done without your authorization and you feel that you have been overcharged, question the bill. Have the shop write out the reasons for the difference in cost, and keep this written explanation together with the work estimate, final bill, and other paperwork. Make sure the mechanic returns your old parts. (The mechanic may return some parts, such as alternators and brake shoes, to the parts supplier for a refund, so you may not be able to get all of them.)
Even if you are unsatisfied with the mechanic's explanation of the difference between the estimate and the final charge, keep in mind that if you refuse to pay a repair bill -- even a bill in dispute -- the mechanic has the legal right to keep your car until you pay. You can then file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office or the Better Business Bureau and/or file a small claims court law suit against the mechanic.
If you suspect that the repair shop has not properly repaired the vehicle or charged you too much and you can't get them to resolve the problem to your satisfaction, your first step should be to take your car to another repair shop. Give the second mechanic a copy of your itemized receipt and order an inspection of the alleged repairs and parts. Get this report in writing. If you notice the same problem with your car is recurring, or find a new problem that should not have arisen, you will be in a better position to negotiate a refund from the first mechanic if you get a second mechanic's opinion of the work done in writing.
When Gabby has to leave her workshop to fix three random trucks needing her mechanical know-how, she forms a mechanic team with Blaze and AJ for offering to help take her garage on the go. In the midst of this, she asks Crusher and Pickle to look after the Axle City garage while they are away.
Thanks to a freak accident during a high-speed chase, the Batmobile is virtually demolished. After Batman takes the car to his personal mechanic, Earl Cooper, the Penguin makes his move and tampers with the Batmobile, putting it under his control.
The duo take the Batmobile to a secret garage where it could be repaired by Earl Cooper, who is the personal mechanic for Batman. After checking the car, Earl tells them that he is going to need a few days to repair it and he gives them a Batcycle each in the meantime. When Batman and Robin leave the place, Earl calls the company that manages the car supplies and makes the order for all the materials he is going to need to repair the car.
The Mechanic lived up to his name. He was a master criminal, second only to the Hood and even worked for the latter. He was a scientific genius whose mastery of technology seemingly knows no bounds, the Mechanic having demonstrated expertise in mechanical engineering, robotics, propulsion, advanced weaponry, computer hacking and programming, holographic technology, electronics and much more.
Arthur Bishop (Bronson), an aging assassin, is hired to kill "Big Harry" McKenna (Keenan Wynn), which he does with his usual resourceful genius. At the funeral he meets Big Harry's son, Steve McKenna (Jan-Michael Vincent). Steve becomes interested in the art of being an assassin, so Bishop plays along and then trains the young man to become a Professional Killer. Steve is taught to use the mechanic's tools until he becomes a master. Arthur Bishop's superiors aren't accepting of Bishop doing this, and in the end they find that they can trust no one. It is a defining example of the seventies action film, and has existentialist themes.
The mechanic was a middle-aged man with brown teeth, a single yellow tooth, and a small mustache. As shown in his anime-style version, his eyes are gray. He originally had dark circles under his eyes, cheekbones, and wrinkles on his face, but these lines have disappeared since the animation studio switched from WILFilm ApS to WildBrain. He always wears a black melon hat with a Nindroid mask with three blue lights to cover his eyes. These lights turn red in Sons of Garmadon and since Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu, he has a red belt on his hat. He also has a robotic arm in place of his left arm, which comes in two versions, regular or flamethrower. 2ff7e9595c
